mypathtosomewhere 1 Posted June 8, 2016 Anyone know what the common timeframe to have continued neck/shoulder and chest pain is after surgery. My stomach is no longer in pain however my neck is in an immense amount of pain. I had my surgery on the second of June (last Thursday). Any advise helps! Thanks! KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 8, 2016 The gas used during surgery can cause this - moving around and walking should help. I would definitely call your surgeon to be sure it's not anything else.

When I had my gallbladder taken out two years ago I only had the pain for maybe 2 days. I was much less active than I am now so that's where the worries stem from. KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 9, 2016 How are you doing? I wonder if the pain is from sleeping awkwardly after the surgery.
Lindsey Skinner Abbott 97 Posted June 9, 2016 I had sharp pains in my right side. I have 4 blood clots[emoji53] if your not on a blood thinner you might want to check it out
kayelly 6 Posted October 20, 2016 @@lindsay skinner Abbot What is the treatment for blood clots? Just blood thinners? Was it in your lung? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Lindsey Skinner Abbott 97 Posted October 20, 2016 Yes, it is blood thinners. I had two in my lungs, one in my portal vein and one in my intestines. I was admitted two weeks post-op with the blood clots but looking back on it I should have gone to the ER much sooner. I thought the pain in my chest was gas. It was the portal vein pain that sent me to the ER because it was cutting blood off to my liver.
