Sugary Sweetheart 97 Posted June 21, 2016 I went to 2 support groups this week. Both were good but the 1 that was better is not at the hospital I'm having my surgery at. I'm having my surgery at the other but I think I'm switching support groups... is that unfair to me? others? I enjoy this support group and the one on FB. anniebanana 167 Posted June 21, 2016 @@Sugary Sweetheart What made one better than the other? I actually belong to a few different Facebook support groups and I have noticed that some are more informative and supportive than the other, which can have a very negative feel at times. Jene't Carver Hagood 12 Posted June 21, 2016 I am trying to get mine schedule for July! I had done everything I need to and my pre-op appointment is July 6th! Praying all goes well and I will have surgery on July 18th!!
Jules M 16 Posted June 21, 2016 How do you plan on explaining your weight loss after the surgery? Are you planning on telling people you had the surgery or another reason? I am on the fence on how I will explain it, especially since there are so many that criticize the surgery.
IAwoman 6 Posted June 21, 2016 I have a surgery date of 7/11 and the pre op diet is a low carb, high Protein diet. I'm on the second week and am losing well. I've been fairly open about having surgery so if anyone asks I'll be honest. If they give me any flack I'll tell them what they can do with it.
BPNY21 13 Posted June 21, 2016 I've been very open about my surgery. I don't feel it's right to tell people I lost weight with diet and exercise like a friend of my does. My surgery is not something I'm ashamed of and there are people who try to talk me out of it by saying they know so and so who gained it all back or died I just listen and go about my business Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
