deerjay 24 Posted July 17, 2016 Can anyone tell me if they give you something for the gas, from what I am reading from other post it's pretty bad the first few days. Sent from my SM-G900T using the BariatricPal App Walking helped the most! I took four walks up and down my hallway on the day of surgery. On the second day, they gave me a chewable gas tablet that helped a lot too. I got some of these for home, and they work wonders. Cheap too! I just got them from Walmart for like 88¢. Jodi Calvert Hyvonen 3 Posted July 17, 2016 My surgery date is set for July 26th! I'm so incredibly excited, but will admit, I'm starting to get a little nervous. I have a lot to get into place in the next week. Any suggestions from those who have already had surgery? Or from those who are in the same place I am? Jodi Calvert Hyvonen 3 Posted July 17, 2016 7/26 ... not looking forward to my 3 week liquid diet Sent from my SM-G935T using the BariatricPal App I'm 7/26 too!! 3 weeks?!! Ugh!! I have my pre op appointment Tuesday and will find out what my diet will be then. But thankfully it's only a week. Good luck with everything!!
GTO315 26 Posted July 17, 2016 Day 12 of my pre-op diet and I've lost 12 lbs. Can't complain about that. I'm actually doing pretty well on it since they allow plain oatmeal, Greek yogurt, and veggies, as well as replacing one of the four shakes with a few ounces of chicken or fish or some egg whites. I'm being creative with what my menu options are for these two weeks. I met with my surgeon on Friday to discuss the risks and what's to come after. I am amazingly calm and not nervous at all. My surgery is Tuesday morning, 7/19 at 8:45am. I'm trying not to think about pain and gas (and gas pain). I'm just looking forward to the newly shaped me that is on it's way! Best of luck to all the other 7/19-ers (as well as everyone else here).
doingitmyway 87 Posted July 17, 2016 Hello all! Just had my sleeve yesterday. All went mostly well! I haven't been hungry since waking up so that's a relief! I do have terrible diarrhea (tmi) but at least I'm not on the other end of things. Awaiting my discharge as we speak!!!!! tlyons72 43 Posted July 17, 2016 Okay...day 2 post op. I have to say, this is not bad. There are moments of pain but pain meds are my friend these days. Walking makes a huge difference. It really hurts at first but concentrate on standing up straight and walking and you'll get through it. Sip slowly...you'll regret it if you don't.

Jessicafnp 12 Posted July 17, 2016 Just wanted to check in! VSG on July 14th. So post op day 3. No pain meds since 2 am the morning after surgery while I was still in the hospital. Did have some vomiting during my first night home... That hurt bad!! Right now my biggest complaint is my hugely swollen uvula, that is gagging me every time I swallow or speak. Working on getting my liquids in. I was supposed to advance to full liquids today but I just don't feel ready. Laughkc11 107 Posted July 17, 2016 4:30 pm on day 5 of pre-op liquid diet and I'm down 6.5 lbs. I know weight loss isn't necessarily the point of the pre-op diet, but it still feels good [emoji4]
Lmoore01 23 Posted July 18, 2016 I just wanted to wish everyone who are having the sleeve done GOOD LUCK. I just had my on the 15th and I already know that this is one of the best decision that I have made for myself. Let me be quite honest the first day after surgery is a rough one, but by the 2nd day it gets better, and by the 3rd well your headed home. Just remember why you choose to do this, to begin with that helped me a lot . Any questions I'm here and will share what I have been through thus far .
