I have a cup that keeps track of each 8 oz that I drink and when all eight lights are lit up signalling that I've reached my goal of 64 oz. It even plays a congratulatory melody. It also beeps if I haven't taken a sip in an hour. Google MyHydrate ifinterested in purchasing one. Really helps me stay kn track.

I'm scheduled for 7-21 !! I'm beyond excited, I started the process on January. Today is my first day on my 2 week liquid diet and I found this place online because I'm looking for support.

My surgery date is 7-21-16. I made it through the first day of the pre-op diet. I had a cup of coffee this morning but not a second one. I also didn't have my usual Diet Coke. I have been yawning all day & can't wait to go to bed! I thought this would be worse but I made it through today! Yay me!

Greetings fellow sleevers - pre and post!

I'm starting my list of items to pack for the hospital and thought some of you might have additional ideas.

1. myself

2. chap stick - dry lips

3. pillow - helps getting up and is a buffer between stomach and seatbelt on the ride home

4. GasX strips

5. A book

Any other ideas or suggestions? I'm all ears :)

Some additional ideas from a YouTuber:

Gentle bra

Light comfy clothing for ride home

hair ties

Makeup

Shampoo/conditioner

Laptop/ipad

Scope/toothbrush/paste

Goodmorning everyone! Sending good vibes and prayers for everyone who has surgery today and this weekend! This is the best decision we could have made for ourselves . I'm now 3 days post op and so happy to be waking up in my own bed! I was able to meet my 64 Fl oz and 40 grams of Protein yesterday . If you guys are looking for a good protein that will help you meet your liquid goals as well.. I would recommend Isopure as it's 20 fl oz and 40 grams of protein all in one bottle! They have pretty decent flavors and are on sale at GNC (Buy 3 get one free) . Blue raspberry is my favorite . Sorry if I'm super excited but I can't wait to see where all of us are in 3-6 months!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
