Ann M. Bell 1 Posted October 8, 2016 I'm two months post surgery and I have been able to keep my hair by taking Biotin everyday. Or am I incorrect and it just hasn't happened yet?
KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 8, 2016 I'm two months post surgery and I have been able to keep my hair by taking Biotin everyday. Or am I incorrect and it just hasn't happened yet?It might not have happened yet or might not happen at all - but unlikely to do with biotin. Usually it happens or it doesn't regardless of attempts to prevent.

KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 12, 2016 @@shirleyjohn001 Have they done bloodwork to make sure everything is good? Thyroid? hair loss will happen if it's going to happen - not much you can do to prevent it. It usually grows back - but if not - you should speak to your PCP or surgeon. shirleyjohn001 13 Posted October 12, 2016 I did my one year post op blood work and all looked normal except for my A1C and fasting blood sugar which was a little high (A1c came down from 8 to 5.8 and fasting blood sugar was 102). But they did not mention anything about thyroid. Do you think I should ask them for that specifically?
KristenLe 5,979 Posted October 12, 2016 @@shirleyjohn001 hair loss is common with weight loss surgery - but if it's not growing back I would have them check thyroid just to be sure.
