Glad you went back to hospital! I am also 7 weeks out with bouts of nausea and vomitting. The Anti nausea medicine made me sickeR!!! Ativan (sp?) helped me - it's an anti anxiety drug...it allowed me to get some sleep and sips of grape Gatorade! Good luck!

Did they tell you what was wrong. I am currently going through this now and my doctors are at a loss. The tests say everything is fine but I am in pain and can't eat or drink.

You should probably have a swallow study done. You may have a blockage or some swelling that is causing the problem. If it is swelling somewhere, that is usually easy to solve. ANY vomiting needs immediate follow up this soon after surgery. Hope you are feeling better soon!

I had that problem when I was 8 weeks after surgery (i am 11 weeks now), i started to have pain after eating solids while it was fine up to week 7th, i barely get any Fluid in so I went to see my family doctor who told me it was either strictures or inflamed stomach, he increased the ppi dose for me and put me on fluids only for few days, i am feeling very well now and i can tolerate some solid foods again thank God.

I will get barium swallow test next week to see if i have stricture (i hope not).

Good luck.

I had the same problem but mine was associated with bad pain. Every test came back clear and was fine but my doctor did blood work and I got pancreatitis. Which they don't know how because I don't have a gallbladder and I don't drink alcohol. Could have them test for that, if you are having pain. Mine got worse when I moved to the pureé/ solid stage.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
