How Often Do You Weigh Yourself?

I've been weighing myself once/month since having RNY. I made a conscious decision to do this so I wouldn't obsess over the scale. It's been working well for me and I actually look forward to my monthly weigh in.

I'd like to know how often you weigh yourself, and why. I've been reading about stalls and how they last for days to weeks. I haven't noticed this with monthly weigh in's. Wondering if I should pay more attention to this. I'm 6 months post RNY.

I am 3 years post-op RNY surgery. I weigh myself daily first thing in the morning. I don't stress about my weight. I use the information to fine tweak my diet.

At 6 or 7 months post-op I stopped losing weight. This was not a stall. My body just went from the weight loss phase to the maintenance phase.

I think it's dependent on how YOU feel. There were times I backed off weighing. I was following the plan but would get discouraged if it wasn't "enough".

In time I worked on changing my perspective. I saw the weight as just that...a number. Similar to James, I use(d) this as a piece of information to guide me.

Once I reached 6 months, decided weekly and/or monthly weigh-ins weren't enough info. If I was stalling, I wanted to know sooner so I could address it sooner.

I think if you view the number as a number, not as a success or a failure, just an update on where you're at, a more more frequent weigh-in can be positive. Like I stated earlier-this was a process and took a lot of self-talk to not obsess or "feel" anything or than informed. That was my journey.

I just reached my 10 month Surgiversary yesterday. I do weigh daily. I began at 504.0, today I weighed 259.0

I weigh almost every morning. The numbers on scale does not dictate my success it's merely a habit now. At almost eight months out I know better to not take stalls negatively.

I weigh everyday. I track my fluctuations every day on happy scale. I like to see the trend

I love this post! I love how you can view it as just information you're taking in on where you are on your weight loss journey. I SO wish I could do that, but unfortunately I will have to weigh myself every month because if I'm honest with myself, I KNOW I will be disappointed if I see I've gained weight despite doing all that hard work. But man, I'm jealous of people who can take it as information and not be devastated =)

That was the one thing that discouraged me with weight watchers. Even though it was about the whole person approach, and I LOVED that, the final JUDGMENT was the scale. I would have a spot on week and have a gain. Other weeks I would halfway track and exercise AT it and lose 3 lbs. I have got to look beyond the scale and look at health numbers like blood pressure and cholesterol numbers and see clothes fitting differently. Once I see that, the scale won't have as much control.

I weigh myself daily. I'm only 3.5 weeks post op, but I need to know how I am doing. I can't wait and do it monthly because if I need to tweak something, I feel that I'll be behind the game. Although hitting this week 3 stall is very disappointing.

I weigh myself daily and always did when dieting. It keeps me focused even when I experienced a recent stall. I'm 8 weeks RNY post op.

I weigh myself daily. I am one year post op and at goal, but like to be in control of my weight and this allows me to make adjustments accordingly. If I gain more than one pound, I adjust my diet that day or exercise twice instead of once, etc.

I am 1 week post op and I weigh daily..I need to see the scale move to remind me why I did this. It also helps me stay on track (currently on liquid diet) knowing the scale is going down and quickly. Once I am at "normal" food I may go to weekly..but we will see.
