Cjanerun 4 Posted June 4, 2016 (edited) I had my surgery June 1st. The gas in my stomach and left shoulder actually stops my breathing. I take GasX and move around as much as possible. Any other suggestions? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Edited June 4, 2016 by Cjanerun
Caribear 184 Posted June 4, 2016 I have not had my surgery yet, but I have heard a heating pad helps a lot. Feel better soon!
Cjanerun 4 Posted June 5, 2016 I will try the heating pad, thanks. Very disheartening; I just stepped on the scale and I weigh more than I did on my surgery day! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Caribear 184 Posted June 5, 2016 You will be swollen for a while after surgery. They pumped you full of IV fluids, and you will have a lot of swelling because of the actual surgery itself. Keep sipping fluids, you will be fine.
AnaLiza 42 Posted June 6, 2016 Walk walk walk is all I would hear the doctors and nurses say when mom had her surgery it helps move the gases out and relieves the gas pain, swelling is Water retention as well and that's why your weight is more than what it was before, give it some time and stick to your diet you'll be fine. Wish you a speedy recovery Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
