Are you looking for the BariatricPal Store? Go now!

Hey guys! I just got approved and my surgery date is 7/13. My friend who had wls in November recommended I go ahead and stock up on some yoga pants/comfy clothes in smaller sizes to prepare, and also to Celebrate a little. I'm not sure how small to go so was wondering what everyone's experience was pre-op, in the first couple of months how fast did you drop sizes, etc? I know the comfy stuff that fits now will get me started (although it's starting to get loose from doing low carb high Protein during my six month diet) and I'm not sure if I should buy anything a size smaller or just start looking for things 2-3 sizes smaller.

Do not buy anything.

There are always sales, seriously, always.

You might skip sizes.

I went from 30/28- to 24, then I was a 20 for like 2 weeks, then an 18. Weight loss isn't a natural stair step progression.

If you have to buy anything get dresses. Pants look the worst after weight loss, tops, dress skirts, are more forgiving. A saggy ass is not.

don't buy anything, you don't know what size you will need

I would only suggest some waist less dresses, they are already big and flowy they could only look better as you drop the weight... Depending on their color use could use them into fall with leggings, tall boots and a sweater... If you must buy something. Otherwise just holding on til you shrink out of your current clothes would probably be more fun. If you need to shop get a new lip gloss it will still fit later on lol.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
