Autumn Riley Arnold 92 Posted June 3, 2016 I've noticed different medical bracelets notifying gastric bypass, bariatric patient, no blind ng tube. and also no nsaids. Is this something that's going to be necessary for me to wear? I'm young, I really don't want to have to wear these!
RobingAlaska 30 Posted June 3, 2016 Not necessary, but information you really should carry in your wallet with your identification. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

James Marusek 5,244 Posted June 4, 2016 I don't believe so. I am 3 years post-op RNY gastric bypass and I don't have one or ever offered one. Just make sure that if you have any complications after surgery, that you refer these to your surgeons office first.
rte837 141 Posted June 5, 2016 At first I almost got one because I wanted everything bariatric, thinking it would help my mission. That was in 2003. Now, the procedure is more common and while it should be noted, the Bracelet is more a marketing opportunity. Not necessary. Good luck on your journey. Anilyn 22 Posted June 7, 2016 I got one but I don't see them as being just for 'old' people. I figure it's better to be safe than sorry...and I have other things that should be on it that I never bothered to do. So now I'm covered.
