In need of Size 20 Capris - will pay!

Recommended Posts

Anyone post op that is looking to get rid of any of their capris (or other summer pieces) that don't fit anymore? I need a few pair to tie me over until I have my surgery next month (mid to late July). I dont want to buy new and spend big bucks, as I am hoping to not be in them for too long after that! I will pay for the items and shipping.

Thanks!!

Have you tried Walmart? They usually have good options that won't break the bank. probably cost less than someone shipping stuff to you. Just a thought. :)

Look at old navy plus size online, they often have online sales.

I think the only thing I have in my goodwill bag are 18s, or I'd send them.

Just hit up Walmart. The cost of shipping even free stuff is more than just buying something at Walmart.

I would get sundresses though instead of pants, you can get more wear out of a dress post op than pants. A loose dress can be fixed with a belt. Pants are going to sag in the butt.

I have 2 pair of black capri's -- size 20. They are identical (I usually buy multiples!). I will actually be in Michigan in a few weeks but I won't be in Detroit--I'll be up about an hour and a half north. Did you want me to bring them with me and then you find a way to get them? Let me know.

Check out Poshmark.com. Tons of used clothes (and some new). Great way to fill your closet while you are changing sizes and then you can resell them! You can filter by type of clothing and size and brand

I have been shopping at my local Goodwill and Salvation Army. I found a cute pair of white capris there yesterday only $3.99. These two stores have been by best friend during my weight loss. I started my journey in a size 24 and now am a size 12. My surgery was in Aug of 2015. I would never have been able to purchase clothes at the regular stores because of the cost and the rapid size changes. I make weekly stops just to see what they have. Good luck on your surgery and enjoy your journey. It is hard work but well worth every minute.

Thanks @@esskay77! Where will you be in Michigan? If we can't meet up, I can get you money for them & for shipping. I can send it snail mail or PayPal if you have an acct.

@@nicksmommy I should also tell you that I lied (inadvertently). I have 1 pair of size 20 and 1 pair of size 18--they are identical and a bit stretchy.

I'll be in Bay City from June 18 - 24. On the 25th I'll be in Hale and then head back out on either the 26 or 27.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
