Before investing in an online membership check and see what the web traffic is to the site. This is a numbers game and without traffic you will see many fake and inactive accounts. http://www.alexa.com/

I thought that was a good article actually. The part on being positive is hugely important. I simply would not reply to someone full of negative statements like " women always want guys with money, so if you are a gold digger just pass me up " . Well I am the furthest from a gold digger, but I woukd pass him up for being such a tool.

The article did not touch on something important. Many men don't read what you wrote but answer based on looks and age. Well, I want to feel like there is some kind of compatibility. I am active and socially outgoing. ..the introvert who plays role playing games for fun is not a good match. There is someone for everyone but not everyone is a good match and I often felt guys just ignore this at times. Be genuine and if you like sky diving don't expect an agrophobic to be interested!

Finally, don't get discouraged so easily. Keep it light, have fun and no expectations. ..who knows you might meet a great woman; but don't get wrapped up in one too quickly.

Ha! I love this! You are totally right about seeing the same people. I'm onto my 4th dating site after a hiatus and it's depressing to see many of the same faces. Maybe there's a parallel with the sleeve and online dating, you have to fail a lot before you succeed! Congrats to you and the hubby for finding one another :)

I met my husband on Craigslist. I kid you not. I did all, I mean all kinds of dating sites. I was tired of paying for dead ends. Sure I went on a lot of dates, but then I would see the same people on all of them. I felt like I was done. I said this is my last try for a long time. Sat down and wrote an online ad on Craigslist. Posted it in 3 close areas.

Met about 5 guys. Still didn't click with anyone. Got in close to 100 emails. Then my husband emailed me. I was on the fence to even reply back because his email was choppy. Kind of cute picture, but no sparks. Probably because I was calling it quits again. I later found out he used speech to text and it wasn't picking up the first word or two. Lol

@@OKCPirate thank you, I am going to check that out. I really don't know what to say.

Dave, I think one of the best messages to send a woman is one that picks up on a topic that they mention in their profile and asks a question about it. E.g., "I see you are a music lover, too, are you going to Lollapalooza this year." Something like that. It shows that you actually read their profile (which most guys simply don't, they are responding to pics), that you have something in common andyou're giving her something specific to respond to. A lot of the message I get just say "hi." Not the best conversation starter. We women do get flooded with loads of messages, the majorityof which fall into the "hi," or "I really like you're X (fill in body part here.)" It's not hard to stand out, in a good way, from those!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
