Potato Soup (careful? Once off purees you'll have to reduce cars again), blended cauliflower soup, broccoli, Tomato. It's up to you. I grated cheddar into it and the heat melted it down into the soup.

I hope you're feeling better. My surgery was 5/16 and I had a hiatal hernia repair at the same time and had chest pain for the first week pretty bad.....The first few days it was hard to drink Water or Protein.......walking helped and drinking standing up helped.

After about a week things got much better. I still get a pressure in my chest ......but see that more as a sign of "I've had enough" now.

The Soups I enjoyed during the pureed stage were all the Progresso Lite soups.....it was nice to have some flavor back some of them are kinda of spicy which I loved!

Good luck and again I hope you're feeling better......if not go camp out in your doctor's office until they see you or go to the ER like others have recommended.

I'm so sorry- the tightness in your chest (although) may seem strange is a feeling people experience at the top of their stomach (according to my Surgeon) so I would think perhaps you are having access inflammation at that point - the cause would be another speculation at this point. Really the only advice I would give if it really becomes bothersome just go to the ER and don't wait. It could be a problem better helped sooner rather than later? I had surgery the same day and I'm returning to I guess my new normal and although I have some discomfort I'm not experiencing pain much anymore. Speedy recovery and well wishes

@@Ley I still have some problems having some things, some times I'll think I'm in the clear then I feel it coming back up and I have to force myself to vomit. I can only handle Water and nothing else but I am still getting dehydrated because I can't get enough liquids in.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
