Hi I had my surgery on 31may and I am very tired yet? If do, how long did it take to feel less exhausted?

For heaven's sake, you had major surgery three days ago. OF COURSE you're tired, your body is working overtime to heal. You may only have a few bandaids on the outside, but your body is working extra-hard on the inside, believe me.

Drink your fluids - dehydration can make you both fatigued and nauseated. Drink your Protein, your body needs Protein to repair tissues. Nap when you need it. Go to bed early, and get up late, your body does it's best repair work when you're asleep.

I had the same surgery date. Struggling to drink my Protein and fluids due to pain and swelling but I'm trying my best.

I was extremely tired for 2 weeks post surgery. I felt "normal" by week 3

Thanks everyone for your replies; helpful to know it is normal.

I was exhausted for about the first week post op starting to get more energy the second week. I basically just nested on my couch with blankets, a Water bottle, and my pain pills for the first week. 1 to 2 naps a day.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
