sherrynfl1 0 Posted August 16, 2007 Does anyone else have problems getting Protein in? I do not eat meat at all. I do however, eat fish/shrimp/crab etc. Luckily I live on the East Coast of Florida and its readily available. Problem is I usually only cook it several times weekly and my typical dinner would consist of mostly carbs and veggies. I have been logging my food on fitday.com and my greatest intake is carbs. Last night I had 1/2 cup of rice with brocolli. Thats typical or a baked sweet potatoe and veggies. lunch I do eat tuna salad, but also have crackers with it. I'm satisfied with my current weight loss right now, but several months ago I was not. I was PB'ing most meals and afraid to have a fill, but was able to eat way more than I should. I've lost almost 14 lbs in the last two weeks which I'm very satisfied with. This occured after i just decided to try another fill. Best thing I ever did. My band is finally working for me. FEAR kept me away from gettinga fill. I'm 8 months out and have only lost 45 lbs, but 14 of that has been in the last several weeks after getting rid of the fear and getting another fill. Any suggestions???? Sherry :help:
kacee 3 Posted August 16, 2007 Why don't you supplement with Protein Drinks. I do a Protein Shake in the mornings before work (a cafe mocha Protein Powder with skim milk and ice in the blender). That gives me about 23 mg right off the bat. Isopure makes Protein pre-made fruit/koolaid-type clear drinks in a bottle (they also have powder stuff...that's not what I am talking about here). They have 42 mg per bottle, so I split the bottle and have over ice. If you find it a little sweet, cut with Water and it works fine. There are about 8 flavors and I haven't found one that I thought was yucky. That way you can get in your protein without having to adjust your food schedule too much. Works for me!
