I just got out the shower using.dial gold antibacterial soap since my surgery and for the second time my incision is leaking a little the last time I squeezed around the incinsion site and clear liquid and light red discharged from the incinsion site.the site is 1 of the 2 biggest incision I have I'm not sure if this is where my stomach was taken out are where the hital hernia was repaired my 1st doctors appointment is tomorrow since surgery ( may 17) and I will ask them. Hoping I'm not infected are anything bad I'll be back with an update. I also feel like I layer on my side to long and now I feel like I pulled something in the same area where the Fluid is leaking from the leaking started before I layed on my side

I have having the same issue. My incinsion was leaking a red Water and I get a clear puss. That rubs on my shirt. Dr said long as it's not warm to touch and ur not feverish all is ok. It's just taking forever to heal. I'm 3 weeks in.

don't squeeze, don't pick don't do any of that stuff. leave it alone and let it heal. once the glue and junk is gone off it you can rub coconut oil or olive oil onto the healing scabs to help them, feels lovely and actually will make the scars better. but you still shouldn't pick or scratch because at some point they will itch.

Definitely show it to your doctor tomorrow. But typically if the Fluid is clear, you are ok and likely not infection. But like LipstickLady said - stop messing with it! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
