Ok can I give both of you some advice plz, I am 2 wks post surgery. My surgery went well and I didn't have any complications but a few days after I got home I had a melt down, because I had to find things to do instead of eating and when having to do that I realized how much time out of my day I actually took to eat, snack and pick. So what i have been doing is walking every time I use to eat so plz come up with a plan for when you are missing food and even the taste of food, I miss flavor so much but Iv lost 20pds in two weeks and it's been worth it. So remember what I'm saying plz because I wish I would have had this advice. :) good luck to all of you :)

Well...I am getting sleeved on the 14th too and I am kind of freaking out too even though I perfectly understand the procedure and what comes afterwards due to my job. I think at this stage is so normal to be nervous. After all we have been waiting to do this for so long!

Mine is also June 14th. I have my pre op appointment tomorrow. I have been losing weight. I last saw the Dr. June 15th 2015. Ofcourse I have gained weight in a year. A total of 20lbs. But since I really buckled down and just started drinking shakes and very little food I have dropped 13.8 lbs. So I'm closer to what I was last June. I still need to go lose more weight before June 14th. I can do it. Anyways, congrats you will do great!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
