Sophie74656 1,572 Posted May 31, 2016 This is something you should talk to your surgeon about. It is different for everyone. Not really sure what you mean by pressure from eating. If you feel pressure you've had too much
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted May 31, 2016 this is going to depend on how long the swelling lasts in your stomach, or else possibly eating too much. one bite over the line and I've felt this way. if it is just the swelling for me it was a couple of weeks. findingnish 39 Posted June 1, 2016 OK cool do you wait till after a few minutes to drink after u eat?
Christinamo7 4,042 Posted June 1, 2016 I wait a half hour after I finish eating before I start drinking. sometimes more depending on how I feel. Some people do not, but I do find I am more satisfied with my food following this rule. plus Protein fills me up so well I don't really want to drink. now that being said, I am on some things that I need to take with a meal, so a sip to swallow a pill, or a sip if my mouth is on fire is fine, I just don't drink any substantial amount while eating. I don't really want to, so it is not a problem.
KristenVSG2014 1,872 Posted June 1, 2016 The pressure the first week is pretty intense while the gas from the surgery is still in your body. Every sip or bite causes pressure. As the swelling goes down you are gradually able to eat a little more. However, you should remember and avoid that feeling of pressure because it generally means you've pushed your sleeve to the limit. Try to eat until you are satisfied, not overly full. As far as drinking, I can drink normally now. I even use a straw because it helps me drink more Water. Sent from my KFFOWI using the BariatricPal App
