Sleeve it to Beaver 187 Posted May 31, 2016 HW 281 CW 254 SW ___ H 5' 8.5" Tomorrow is the day! Super pumped and no nerves yet. I started my process on 10/22/15 by attending and informational session. Almost didn't continue with the process because my BMI is on the 40 border and thought I'd be "punished" for losing weight prior to surgery and would no longer qualify. Lesson learned; always ask questions!!! I started on a 1,600 calories a day diet for the next six months per my insurance requirements. I have lost 27 lbs. so far! I am hoping to be down to 250 for surgery. I have been on a mostly liquid diet this past week. My doctor said because I've lost more than double the ask that my daily pre-op diet could include two Protein Shakes and a Lean Cuisine or similar meal. Last night was a shot of MoM - gross! Today it's all liquid. SF Jello and Water for Breakfast. Lol. Will have Bone Broth for lunch and dinner. Water, water, water! That's all for now. Just signed up today. Looking forward to learning a lot here and about the new me! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

Sleeve it to Beaver 187 Posted June 4, 2016 Surgery weight was either 247.5 or 245.7. Can't remember. This means I lost about 10 pounds in two weeks before surgery. 6/7 is my postop with my surgeon. 6/10 I meet with primary physician. So will find out how much I'm down next week. Today is way better than yesterday and so on. I start back to work on Monday. But I should be good as I work from home. Sent from my iPhone

Looking forward to learning a lot here and about the new me! Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App Good for you!!! I'm 5'8" and I weigh 248, I lost 33 lbs in the past year and 11 since starting this journey. My doctor said DONT LOSE ANYMORE WEIGHT(for insurance purposes). I was actually devistated because I was doing so well and then had to stop dieting... So I'm trying to maintain weight but I don't really know how to do that... Its either eat healthy and on my diet... Or eat regular and gain weight for me (I have pcos). So these weeks before I get approved are so nerve racking as well! Sleeve it to Beaver 187 Posted June 10, 2016 That does not sound like a fun way to manage pre-op. I get it though. It's like we are on that border so things do get tricky. I started my journey with s BMI of 42.2 and my surgery I was down to 39. I didn't know enough about the process that it almost stopped me from beginning. I assumed I would be 'punished' for losing weight and going below 40 BMI. Who knew I was so 'skinny' to begin with? So, these weeks leading up to approval and surgery will serve as great lessons to prepare you for your new life. Embrace the challenge and rise above it!!! Good luck. Keep me posted on your progress. KristenLe 5,979 Posted June 10, 2016 My 9 year olds' birthday party and we are serving the kids pizza. Not going to lie. It's kind of tough. Sip sip sip on my propel Water. Sent from my iPhone My therapist asked me what food I felt like I could not do without post-op. pizza was the only thing I could think of. Once you can eat foods - there's some great bariatric friendly pizza recipes. My therapist suggested a portabello mushroom filled with pizza toppings. Stay strong! Sleeve it to Beaver 187 Posted June 11, 2016 I had a realization about a half hour later. The old me would have ate half the pizza. And its probably not even that good. But I held strong and did get over it. Got in lots of Water. So there's that. My 'last supper' was a Lean Cuisine pizza. Ha ha I wish I liked mushrooms! I have been low carb in the past and plan to try my best with that in the future. I'll be making cauliflower and broccoli crusted crust.
