Glad to hear that things are going well and naturally for you. I am pretty much doing the same. Consider yourself lucky. I am reading a lot of not so good stories.

Keep doing good and get in the water!

Hello All. I am almost 10 weeks out from surgery and doing fantastic. I have had no regrets, and am loving the sleeved life. I started working out in a gym a few weeks ago, but have been doing cardio for over a month now. I'll post my measurements soon (don't have them with me).

Starting weight of 1 week pre-op diet-290 Ibs

Weight on day of surgery- 276

Current weight (10 weeks out)- 233

I have had no issues with any food. I eat chicken (breast, thighs), pork (tenderloin, loin), ground beef/turkey, steak, shrimp, etc with no problems. I eat (fresh, roasted) broccoli, asparagus, mushrooms, onions, okra, green Beans, lettuce, Tomato, watermelon, cantaloupe, strawberry, grape, avocado, raspberries, etc etc. Pretty much all fruits and vegetables. I have had a few bites of bread, but it just fills me up so much after only 2-3 bites, that I just don't bother with it anymore. It's not worth it. And I don't even miss it (Never thought I'd say that) I'd rather eat Protein and veggies/fruits. I make all kinds of meals for my family, so I usually just have a variation of what I'm cooking them (without carbs usually). I'm working out, more active, more energetic most days. I literally have zero regrets or complaints! I hope everyone else is doing well with their journey!

Sounds like you are doing great. You are motivating me to push myself even more. I am not getting the veggies in like I want. Haven't really done fruit and no bread. So that's good.

Isn't it crazy how it seems we are melting away. I'll be in Onderland very soon and super pumped!!!

Hello, I was reading your journey and have to say congrats ! I just had my surgery 8/2 and trying to find a balance with everything. My taste buds totally changed. I cant stand the shakes, powders etc. Water hurts rather you sip or gulp. Soft food stage is next week so hopefully I can get Protein better with real food. I hope you all keep posting cause yes its very inspiring.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
