I started my prediet mid April and had my surgery on May 2nd. I am down close to 54 lbs and I am losing an average of over a lb a day. I'm 6'0" and was 312lbs at the start of this journey. My target is to lose a little over 100lbs. I have been exercising regularly and eating very clean following my program exactly as my doctor asked me to. I'm not complaining but it seems like it's coming off too fast at this point.. is this normal?

I think your fine. I've lost 100lbs in a little less than 4 months and my doctors are very pleased with the loss.

I've lost 27 lbs in 11 days. But hey, I'm not mad at it!

I lost 100lbs in 5 months and none of the doctors/surgeons were concerned. The only time you need to worry about it is if it's because you physically can't eat (vomiting, nausea, etc), are an alcoholic, drug addict or have an eating disorder. According to my surgeon, that is!

Well, I jinxed myself. I've been in a stall for 5 days. That's what I get for being too optimistic! :)

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
