Seroma?

Did anyone develop a seroma after your surgery? How was it treated and how long did it take for it to go away?

I am sorry I don't have a response but have been thinking about you. Is this what they decided was wrong when you were at the ER yesterday?

Sorry just went back and read your ER post. I would call your surgeon on Tuesday and get in to see them. Any chance you can postpone going back to work a few more days?

Yeah I decided that I am not going back to work tomorrow yet, they will just have to suck it up.

That is the plan to call the surgeon tomorrow and find out how they want it handled... What I was reading some doctors drain it and some just let it go away on it own (which may take months) so hopefully I will find out more tomorrow.

Yeah after cat scan and blood work they said its seroma. I knew I wasn't exaggerating that something is not right with that pain of mine and overall feeling.

So sorry you are going through this! Glad you can sit out of work a little longer and SO glad someone at ER listened to you! We know our bodies best and yet sometimes drs just think we are wimps or exaggerating. So frustrating! I was in ER with a "nope nothing's wrong" after CT scan and blood work and 2 days later I am getting balloon dilation for a stricture because my stomach openness basically scarred over and barely a pin hole opening so nothing was getting thru (and coming back up). That was just 4 short (or frankly quite long) days after 3 month checkup saying I knew something wasn't quite right. Quick fix and much better now and no way they would have known differently but glad I kept calling after not holding anything down for 4 days straight.

Wow that's scary! Glad you stayed on top of it. For sure we know our bodies and can definitely tell that something is not right. They gave me some antibiotics to take if I want to just in case it could be a bacterial infection (it might not do anything for it) related but I decided to wait and talk to my surgeon first tomorrow before I do anything.

I just sent a note to work that I am not coming in tomorrow and will let them know once I have more info.

The way I feel I need few more weeks off but because nature of my work I just can't do that but hopefully sometime this week.
