James Marusek 5,244 Posted May 30, 2016 After RNY surgery, weight loss is achieved by volume control. Your diet is restricted to certain types of foods and your volume of food per meal is miniscule. The three most important elements after surgery is to meet your daily Protein, Fluid and Vitamin requirements. food is secondary because your body is converting your stored fat into the energy that drives your body. Thus you lose weight. So generally we do not track calories. Following the program guidelines is important if you want to achieve the weight loss.

esskay77 785 Posted May 30, 2016 I was told to not count calories, just count grams of Protein, carbs, and fat and you should be all set. And it is so much easier than counting calories.
