What did I do to myself?

@carlissarn.... Diarrhea does not seem to be a frequent complaint on here.... Do you think this is all a bad reaction to the anesthesia?

Sorry your having a rough day again.

It can be a reaction to the swallow test contrast solution. Also, some of the other meds they give like antibiotics, but especially the contrast if you have a swallow test. Also, the first week I was pretty sensitive to any fat.

It's not like Its constant diarrhea. About 3 times per day but it wipes me out all over again and then I gotta build back up again. I'm feeling a bit better. Heck this is hour to hour, not day to day with me.

5 weeks out and I can tell you that loud stomach noises are normal. When I drink or eat, I hear noises and feel brief cramping, nothing really painful. And I did have some diarrhea days early on. Sounds like everything is normal for you! You are doing great!

Carlissa_rn I was sleeved 5-25 and was sick as a dog. Actually never seen a dog as sick as I felt. Surgeon almost kept me extra day because I was throwing back up fluids. Convinced him that I was ok to go home. Very tired and yes very giggly stomach and can still feel liquids going down intestines. Yes I also have fluids especially Jello go straight through me. It is very exhausting. I am just trying to get up and move and stay close to my house for rest room.

I agree with others that I was killing myself with my obesity so taking this step was a positive move.

The things that you seem to be experiencing now are things that I am experiencing also. I think all is ok with me just my body getting used to a new stomach

Good luck. Sending out positive vibes your way.

My whole family is in the pool, the cook out smells soooo good and I'm still laid up in the bed. It hurts so much to move in my left abdomen, where the stomach was removed. Very very painful there.

@carlissa, are your Italian ice sugar free? If not, that may be contributing to your diarrhea. About the loud burpy/stomach noises...completely normal. I am 10 weeks post op and I have the gurgling, burpy feeling and sounds all the time, esp. When I'm full or have eaten/drank too much, but sometimes for no reason. Lol

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
