NikkiRT 265 Posted May 28, 2016 I agree with the fact the Caffeine withdrawal is truly from my body's addiction to it, not from dehydration. I am going to try and start weaning off it, and start by buying the "half caf" and go from there. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
areader4life 26 Posted May 28, 2016 About a week, maybe two, post op, I started back to my one cup a day. I rarely finish the whole cup (once it's temp drops too much), but this is what helps keep me regular....(sorry, tmi). It's the only caffeine I consume and I don't count those ounces into my "water" total. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
JupiterinVirgo 846 Posted May 28, 2016 I am a writer, and coffee is a staple of my diet. It was before, and it is now. I didn't drink coffee immediately after surgery; I drink tea with raw local honey in it which has antimicrobial properties that I thought would be good to heal my stomach incisions. But within two weeks was back on regular coffee, the only difference being that I add collagen powder to it. Now on days when I don't move around much because I'm stuck at my desk, The Protein Powder and coffee seems to really do the trick.

In addition, Starbucks flat white/latte has about 9-12 grams of Protein, although it also has some sugar from the milk.
