No surgery date for me. I gained 5 pounds last month so they don't want to give me a surgery date until next visit, which is my last visit with the dietician. However, I did find out its most likely will be at the end of July - Early August. I just wish I had a specific date so I can start the process of taking off with my job. This process can be aggravating but I know it'll be worth it.

Hey Brandi! I gained 2 pounds, but I haven't even been given a surgery date. I'm still going through the required 6 month supervised dr's visit, but they say I should be going into surgery the end of august. I too am trying to get the process going with taking off with my job, I want to make sure that I give more than enough notice.

I actually just posted a question about this very subject, how many days off are you trying to take? Will you use PTO, FMLA, or short time disability?

My insurance required 6 months as well of supervised visits. I'm going to used disability!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
