I'm a little bummed out. I'm tentatively scheduled on June 14th if I can get cleared by my PCP. Everything was going great and I'm a self pay patient so not much was required, but when they checked my resting heart rate it was 130. I'm going tomorrow morning for an EKG. I'm hoping it's because I started the liquid diet 3 days ago, been exercising, haven't been sleeping well with all the excitement and I also take Vyvanse for binge eating disorder (The nurse told me to throw those in the trash that those right there could be the cause) but deep down I know something is wrong. My resting heart rate when not on Vyvanse is in the 80s which is normal, but when I go for a walk my HR will spike into the 200's. I just know they're going to find something tomorrow. I hope there is something they can give me or a procedure they can do to fix it so I can continue on with the surgery. Has anyone else gone through this? I feel so lost in this and have no one to talk to.

I haven't gone through exactly what you have with this issue. Try to breathe. Don't worry forward- it will only make you feel worse and it will 100 % not help at all. Just trust that they will pinpoint the exact cause and have a precise treatment. The Medical field has come a long way. There are heart docs that have spent decades in this field and save lives every day.

I have PVCs which was diagnosed when I was pregnant. It's a benign condition. It doesn't sound similar a to yours but they did a heart ultrasound and a 24 hour halter heart monitor and figured it out with a week.

It's a blessing that they've discovered this now before it causes serious issues.

Breathe, pray and talk to people who will listen and calm you down. Keep busy to keep your mind off of it.

Help others, listen to them share on their problems. You'll be helping a friend and easing your anxiety.

This is coming from someone whose had anxiety since I was 13 years old. Hugs to you!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
