Ok, peeps. I'm 4.5 weeks post op. I went back to work on Monday. I have had some nasty nausea since the beginning, but have been managing. Since now I'm on more of a schedule and sitting at my desk for 8 hours, listening to my sleeve talk to me, I've finally figured something out. When I take my other meds (anti-depressants & thyroid meds) I get extreme nausea and feel very acidy about 30 minutes later that lasts for about an hour. I literally sat there with my mouth watering, trying not to throw up in my trash can. Today was the worst. I took the Omeprazole about 30 minutes before thinking this might help, but it did not. I am no longer crushing them and taking them whole. Does this have something to do with it?

I just emailed my Doc for help because it was so bad today, all I could do was sit there and sweat and pray and whimper softly. It took me getting on a regular schedule to make the connection between taking my other meds and the extreme nausea.

Has anyone experienced this? Any suggestions? HELP ME......

I was not allowed to take whole pills for 8 weeks (not until week 9) so maybe that is the reason, given that you are only 4.5 weeks out.

Try taking your PPI later in the day.

I was instructed to take my PPI at 4pm... as there is sufficient food in my stomach and it would keep the acid under control.

Perhaps the reason for your issues is that you are taking all the meds during a short period of time and this is irritating something.

I know the feeling. I'm 4 weeks out and have had raging nausea, on Prilosec, on soft foods and know I'm not meeting Protein but am so sick of Protein Shakes. can't take urso for gallstone, was sick for 2 days taking 1 pill. nausea at the start of all meals. does this get better??? I have lost weight, not weighing myself yet just trying to eat daily greek yogurt, fluids, meds, so many Vitamins, and real food which now tastes good but always an aftertaste.

I had to stop Prozac and trazodone. They were making me puke. The rest I take through the the day and constantly eat tums lol

I switched from Zoloft to Lexapro. Zoloft was always hard on my stomach.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
