The scale lives another day.... :)

Recommended Posts

My evil scale just got a pardon. I was ready to commit it to a watery grave (the pool) but it decided to actually go DOWN in numbers- finally!

I had revision from a band to a sleeve on April 20th and for the last week had been stuck in the dreaded stall. Thanks to the wonderful advice of the members on this site I kept to plan- Protein, fluids and exercise.

So here we go- this is the first time I'm posting actual numbers....

Surgery weight- 177

Current weight- 159

Goal weight- 140

I can honestly say this surgery has changed my life. I have unbelievable energy and feel fantastic. My kids are loving the mom that plays badminton in the evenings and da hubby loves that I want to run errands instead relying on my team of monkey butlers from Amazon to deliver things to my door. Yey me!!

I know that there will be some hard work down the road but I'm glad that there is this site to keep me motivated and inspired.

My scale just snickered at me... Yep it's still a jerk.

The battle is ON!!

Take care everyone. :)

tell me how does the restriction feel comparing the band to the sleeve? I've always been curious about that.

Hummmmmm.... That's a good question. There is definitely a different feeling. With the band I always had a "stuck" feeling when I swallowed, now I have a "full" sensation in my stomach.

I liked my band, had it for 6 years before it gave out and during that time I changed my relationship with food. That being said, it was a pain. Fills, finding the green zone, and oh the fun time my germy kids brought home norovirus for Thanksgiving. Violent throwing up and bands do not make holiday fun. AT ALL.

I'm thrilled with the sleeve and my weight loss but it's hard when I see other members numbers going down so rapidly. Ive read that revision patients lose slower, but I'm not sure that's true. It's all about calories in and getting my exercise on. I'm going to stay the course and keep on keeping on. :)

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
