Sugary Sweetheart 97 Posted June 8, 2016 Ok July Sleevers, How many of you have had your Chest Xray and Upper GI done yet? Or EKG?
nyseness 76 Posted June 10, 2016 July 20th. I'm trying to get a list together on what I need to purchase for after surgery. I want to be as prepared as I can. Any suggestions?
Elvenprincess 26 Posted June 10, 2016 @nyseness. I have heard tastes change after surgery so I just stocked up on bottled Water and strawberry kiwi propel powder and unflavored Protein powder. My program requires us to drink Boost so I have tons of that. My pre op diet is 4 Boost shakes a day and chicken broth and flavored water. donnaqtpi314 12 Posted June 11, 2016 I have my re-assessment next week and anticipate an early July surgery date. Excitement and nervousness alternate. Lots of fear and hope too. The success stories in here help tremendously. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Sugary Sweetheart 97 Posted June 11, 2016 Hello July Sleevers, I had my chest xray and upper GI done..... drinking barium is worth 62 calories... lol! So you know, Drink lots of Water after these tests are done. You will become constipated after having drunk only a few ounces of the barium Fluid, It sits in your stomach all day and feels like a heavy rock. You do lose your appetite but it takes a few days to be "regular" again. EKG and preop are next while I'm on the liquid diet. Now this part really scares me. I'm not pleasant to be around when I'm "HANGRY" (hungry and angry) My family is being very supportive and I appreciate that. I only hope I can keep my senses while I'm liquid dieting for 2 weeks. P.S. I lost my surgery folder when I hid it from Mom, and I need to get a new one for all my surgery preop and postop information. *SIGH*
