I was sleeved on May 17th. Doing great by the way, no pain, no problems getting my Protein and liquids in, just missing being able to eat like I used to but I'm trying to put everything about this in it's proper perspective.

For instance the hunger issue. Before my surgery I read Dr. Duc. C. Vuong's Ultimtate Gastric Sleeve Success book food now and I am seeing now that real hunger is a good thing! It is a natural normal thing that I've had little experience with.

Since this seems to be one of the biggest issues with people trying to be successful with WLS I'm wondering what you guys think and what psychologically has helped you to be successful and what has hindered success mentally in your WLS journey's.

I just want to say congrats on your sleeve and I look forward to seeing how things go for you!

what I love about my sleeve is that hunger doesn't feel the same anymore. I feel an empty feeling and like I should eat something but it is no longer the big demanding monster that it used to be. and much more easily satisfied. I don't eat to get full - I eat just to feel not hungry anymore. it is liberating!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
