scrafs 0 Posted May 25, 2016 I'm 7 days in after having a gastric band, all was going well, however 2 days ago developed excruciating pain under left rib cage, feel like can't take a breath in, move or lie on that side (presume it's around port site) can't see surgeon for another 2 days - is this gonna go away or is something wrong - please tell me this is common !!! LadyMaggie 145 Posted May 25, 2016 Sorry to hear this. Not sure if there is any such thing as "common" or "uncommon" with lap bands. Surgeons have many different approaches. However, my PORT is on my right side; my LAP BAND is on my left side. Have you tried walking? Sometimes just standing up helps.
