7 days out no restriction WTF

Recommended Posts

So far everything I've eaten has been fine. I can eat a pretty decent(I wanna say about a cup) of mashed potatoes. I was full from that. But shouldn't I be getting full from way you less? Strained Soups shoot I could probably eat a whole bowl if I wanted to but I'm not. I thought the whole point of this Sergio is to restrict how much I can actually eat? I'm disappointed to say the least. Sure I've lost 10 pounds since I had the surgury but I was so messed up the first few days I didn't eat any thing at all.

You are eating slider foods. You will never feel restriction with them.

Just because you can eat something doesn't mean you should. You should be eat the recommended ounces in your program, which is probably like 2, and that is it.

If you love potatoes, I'm not sure mashed potatoes is a good choice.

Ok, well the first time I realized it was too much.I was just ready to eat some actual food and went over board.Next time I made myself a tiny portion. I just really thought my sleeve would let it's self be known...

Wow, did your doctor tell you that mashed potatoes was an okay food to eat that early?

And no, you won't feel a restriction if you're eating mostly liquids or very mushy foods because they flow right through the stomach valve.

Please follow your doctor's advice as far as what you are allowed to eat and the quantities (MEASURE EVERYTHING!!!).

You're endangering your current recovery from surgery - you had MAJOR surgery and your stomach is very damaged and swollen - stop pushing it to do too much too soon.

And if you're eating things not on your approved list (like potatoes) please just stop. We all know how hard it is when you smell/see something you really want to eat, but stick with the doctor's plan - they want you to be safe and relearn how to eat foods the right way!! And simple carbs like potatoes are not a good thing to get re-addicted to either ;)

As soon as you start on the solids you'll be very aware of the restriction.

Cream of wheat or thin mashed potatoes are on my approved list along with greek yogurt and strained Soups. :) I really can't wait till I can just puree some meat and vegetables though cause these foods seem so carbs to me I guess that's why I'm only supposed to eat 2oz

A couple things to remember. First, because You Just Had Major Surgery, your stomach isn't sending accurate full/empty signals yet this early out. That's why you're given guidelines about amounts to eat.

Second, don't fret overmuch at this stage about carbs/no carbs. Your intake is so tiny that you really need what calories you can take in, in forms your body can handle.

Believe me when I tell you, your restriction will make itself know to you in very specific terms once you begin solids.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
