cindyw41 761 Posted May 24, 2016 I tried it about 7 weeks out. It was too much for me at that time. I haven't tried it again yet. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
Inner Surfer Girl 12,015 Posted May 24, 2016 How far out did you have it? Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App I can't remember. Maybe by my 4th week or so?
atontor 1,068 Posted May 24, 2016 About my 4th week or so. I started making my own homemade chili. It definitely helped in my weigh loss. My HW 340 SW 320 CW 195 GW 185. I was sleeved 5/29/15. Those last 10 pounds are hard since I'm weightlifting and building muscle.
OutsideMatchInside 10,166 Posted May 24, 2016 I will never understand the obsession with Wendy's Chili from WLS patients.
BarrySue 602 Posted May 24, 2016 Between my job and work, sometimes fast food was just the easy, convenient thing for me to do, so I've had Wendy's chili on occasion starting at about 6 weeks out. I could never finish more than 1/3 of a cup, but it was a nice change of pace from drinking my Protein. I still have chili every once and a while, it's a go-to especially when I'm out at a restaurant or want to blend in without wearing a giant "I HAVE SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS" blinking neon sign. rnsamantha 352 Posted May 24, 2016 I used to eat more of the Wendy's chili, as a large serving would last 3 meals! Now I just make a pot of chili on Sunday and freeze it into small containers. Voila! dinner plus lunches for a week, plus I know exactly what's in it! I still eat the chili when out because there's no way I could eat a burger or fries without feeling sick for 2+ hours. MorningDove 0 Posted May 24, 2016 I am 4 weeks post op and tried Wendy's chili this past weekend. While I was having difficulty with tuna and other Protein sources, the chili went down fine. It allowed me to eat more than Protein shakes while I was away for the weekend. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
atontor 1,068 Posted May 24, 2016 Homemade Chili is definitely a way to go since you can add all types of Proteins for our recovery. It did wonders for me since I was down 120 lbs in 6 months.
jess9395 5,449 Posted May 24, 2016 Huh... I was cleared for it earlier than most I guess. I could have it at 2-3 weeks can't remember which. And it was a staple for me for quite a while. Course I could maybe ear 1/3 of a small (no cheese no onions). Now I can do about half a small and occasionally add the cheese and onions. I am 2.5 years out.
