It is annoying. I was a size 10 and I am now a size 9. I mostly wear flat shoes, so I am placing a sole in the shoe so I can continue to wear them for awhile. It has helped.

I think shoes are more annoying that clothes, especially since they cost so much more, and your favs aren't for sale anymore.

I am in a half size now, which is a special kind of shoe hell.

I am a shoe wh**e. I have thousands of dollars worth of shoes and they better not get too big on me! I will stuff them, line them, inject my feet with fat and fillers, I don't care what I have to do! One way or another, my shoes will fit. Oh yes, my shoes will still fit!

Yup shoes and jewelry, glasses, head gear for C-pap if you use one. I joke with my husband regarding the head hear for C-pap.....I must have had a big fat head and I don't any more.

It definitely is not cheap losing all this weight but it is too much fun shopping for new stuff. In fact trying on clothing and shoes is my favorite thing to do because I fit into normal sizes. I used to avoid shopping for clothing and shoes like the plaque because it was depressing.

p.s. Hopefully you will lose the C-pap within the 1st year anyway but some people don't.

Actually if they are pumps or closed shoes, this can be a pretty easy fix. Just get some nice thick insoles. You'll find them in all shapes and sizes and they even make them just for the toe or just for the heel. Not only will your shoes be wearable, they'll be more comfortable. :)

Some individuals drop a size or two after surgery. For others the width of the shoe gets smaller.

Width and length have completely changed for me... shoes that is. On the plus side, I can comfortably wear tons of shoes right now without having to worry about width. On the negative side, the shoes I want are usually tough to get and generally require ordering online before they sell out... which has resulted in me owning a couple pair of retro Jordan's (my 10 year old self always wanted) that are probably a full size too big. Thick socks it is!

My feet were the first place I noticed my weight loss right after RNY bypass. The very first! I went down to a normal width and one size to a 6 1/2 within a few weeks. At first I was like, "Really?" but now I love shoe shopping and clothes shopping after 11 months and 125 lbs!

I was an 8 1/2 wide and am now a 7 regular. Had to get new shoes twice as I never expected to go smaller than a 7 1/2. I rationalize this by knowing that I've been a stable weight for about two years now and have not bought a whole lot this year as I'd just be buying more in the same size.

My shoe size went from 9 wide to 8 1/2 narrow. I switched from diabetic socks to regular socks.

My shoe size has dropped a full size and my feet are still getting smaller. I was borderline between wide and regular and now I'm definitely just a regular. I just started noticing that my work out shoes are getting big again.

My jewelry is another thing I wasn't expecting to have to buy either. Had to get new pandora bracelets, and all new rings. Even necklaces are too long now.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
