Experienced frothing for the first time...OMG

Recommended Posts

I'm a month out and really have not had many issues other than nausea the first couple days after surgery. On Saturday I think I ate too quickly and/or didn't chew well and experienced frothing. It was AWFUL! Even after the frothing ended, I still did not feel well....uggggg. Never want to go through that again!

Foamies, I experienced it the day after surgery having my leak test. They kept wanting me to take more and more sips of the contrast. And I kept telling them I can't but they needed it for the test. Not long after foamies.

I woke up with it once. I was drooling all over my face and pillow. And not just a little bit! I was like a teething baby and should have just slept with a bib on. Thankfully hasn't happened again!

As my one "dear" grandson says, "Look, Granny! You've been slimed!"

Then my other "dear" grandson pipes in, "No, I think Granny has rabies!"

Anyone want a couple of "dear" grandsons?????

Really, "sliming" is a sign of drinking/eating too "something". Whether it's: too fast or too much, or too sweet, or too rich.

You will "know" it when get it AND you will NOT forget it.

Just try not to experience it in front of two wise arse grandsons! :)

Oh I remember the first time it happened to me. Valentina is right it's doing something too quickly or eating the wrong thing. I know with me it's eating too quickly so I try to make sure I do not get too hungry then eat too fast.

Eat too fast......or eat too much........and you'll KNOW.

Then you'll beg to un-eat whatever it was and to vow to never again do stupid stuff that causes it.

I literally got this the other day..

I hadn't eaten for a few hours because i was in back to back meetings. .. i left work and came home and cause i was hungry i must of ate way to quickly.

I got the foamies for around 20 mins.... then puke... out it all went... lesson learned on my part... don't eat to fast or not chew enough...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
