Did anyone gain on there last month of the pre-op diet? I have 5lbs to lose by my scale before Wednesday! I hate my scales I never know what I really weigh.

Anyway if you gained did you not get approved at 1st or what happened? Just trying to prepare myself for the worst case scenario. Thank you

My doc said if I gain ANYTHING from now until surgery (August) I'm cancelled. They weigh me in at everything -- even the freaking CPAP follow-up! I wasn't expecting that one and had just eaten lunch.

I'd do liquids if you only have 5 days and lots of watermelon and foods that flush you out -- no salt!

Thank you all, I am doing all liquid n clear at that lol. I don't have a set amount to lose insurance said no required amount and the reason for the 6 month is to see if it's working or not. Well its not, I workout eat smaller portions drink only Water yet I still gained. I don't eat sweets either, n the past week or 2 no breads or pastas. Prolly why I was crying and mad at my husband lol poor man.

Anyway, 5 lbs away!! Wish me luck gonna walk my ass off tonight n tomorrow n see what happens. Good thing my class is at 9am! Again Thank you all will definitely do it!

Ooh yeah girl they weigh you each time you go in regardless of appointment type. AND they do not let you take your shoes off unless you have socks or tights on at our office, I get why but come on. I am not a sock person, so now I got hip carry those little footy things. So, I was approved for June 8th already lost more than my pre op goal weight. I have been having little mini food funerals like movie popcorn, Pasta, pizza, drinks. Then I walk and go right back to the pre op meal plan weighing and measuring foods. Do not want my food addiction to get back in the drivers seat. Also, low carb usually does the trick. Sounds like you are on it with the Clear Liquids so keep it up. Just remember how badly you want this new life ahead of us and is it worth the foods we already know how they taste and where they get us. Sweat it out my friend! Good luck, you can do this!

Drink lots of Water, it flushes out your system, especially if you're constipated. Exercise and eat light. My surgeon said to lose 10% of my body weight so my liver will shrink and can easily be handled. I need to lose 25 pounds lbs I'm down 19. A few more weeks to go!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
