KindaFamiliar 3,867 Posted May 23, 2016 I can... Can you? What does your surgeon/nutritionist say? Each support team has different rules for different people... You'll get a dozen different answers from a dozen different people here - none of whom are qualified or knowledgeable to comment on YOUR specific case... Your best option is to check with your team... Good luck to you...
Kindle 8,667 Posted May 23, 2016 If your surgeon says it's OK then you might as well try it. I know some people were drinking coffee day after surgery. Every time I Tried it hurt. Took about 6 months before I could tolerate a small cup. I can now drink it fine, but if I have too much it gives me gastritis and I have to take antacids. So I mostly stick with tea. lifeofblair 308 Posted May 23, 2016 My program says no caffeine, even in coffee and such. I even had to give up my favorite crystal light flavor because it had caffeine in it.
Icantbelieveit 955 Posted May 23, 2016 Mine say no coffee or caffeine for 6 months post-op because it dehydrates. Even Decaf has tiny amoubts of caffeine Sent from my SM-G930P using the BariatricPal App
JT1230 36 Posted May 23, 2016 My surgeon said no coffee for a month. Also recent studies have confirmed that coffee is not a diuretic unless caffeine consumption is over 400mg per day.
