JuicyDew 1 Posted May 22, 2016 I'm 3 weeks post op. Last week while eating I got severe pain in my chest, felt like I'd been stabbed in the chest. Lasted all night, I felt the pain slighter for 3 days... Although the pain is gone now, I'm curious to know what it might have been. I never want to feel it again. Almost like swallowing an ice cube that won't go down but much much worse!
WLSResources/ClothingExch 3,444 Posted May 23, 2016 There's no way to say for sure what it was. However, your description of feeling that an ice cube stuck in your esophagus (am I reading you correctly?) suggests that your food, in fact, got stuck in your esophagus. You may have taken too large a bite (or spoonful, if you're still on purees or soft food) and/or not chewed thoroughly enough and/or not paused between bites.
