Hey everyone! So I'm still on my 90 day weight loss management, and my provider has me on a low calorie high Protein diet which I'm sure we all are on.

So this is my 3rd week of the diet, I've been really strict with myself and taking it completely seriously. I haven't had fast food or any dessert food in this 3 week period. The only problem I am having is that I haven't really lost weight! I have maybe lost 2-3lbs but it is constantly going up and down.

TMI ALERT: Constipation is also being an issue which also effects the number on the scale.< /p>

So my question is, has anybody else gone through this issue? If so what were some things you did to help.

With the way I am eating and basically living off protein supplements and chicken, I thought I would have lost at least 5lbs by now. I have increased my Fiber as well as taking Probiotics but it's not working.

I think what you're describing is very common. I had to take a laxative. Call your team and have them recommend something for you.

Call your Dr, but it sounds like you may have to include a laxative or more water/fiber.

How much Water are you drinking?

Sprinkle some miralax on food, warm tea, Gentle laxative...

As far as wt loss, journal your food , let your NUT review what your eating

My understanding of how Miralax works is that you need to take it with Water.

@@_bribri1001 Definitely log your food to discuss with your NUT. Are you low-carb? Be sure to read labels and make sure Fat and Sugars both under 5. Talk to your NUT but my pre-surgery diet includes fruits and veggies - that would help with Constipation. Good luck! My NUT also told me not to worry about weight loss right now - that the his is when we learn how to eat post op.

Yes Water is right... but with our patients that have swallowing thin liquids issues, we sprinkle in food also... just another route to be more effective...not saying she has dysphagia or anything...

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.
