Hi, everyone! Seems like my story is a pretty common one. Having trouble getting all my fluids in, etc. I was just wondering if anyone else just wanted to sleep ALL the time! I think I'm finally coming out of it, but I had a severe dizzy spell getting up earlier from laying down so much. I'm terrified of getting really dehydrated since that seems to be the main issue for most at the beginning. No nausea or problems keeping fluids down, thankfully.

I am two days ahead of you.....I wasn't able to get in near enough Fluid until yesterday when I got all 64 oz!......Those first few days for me were rough. I felt queasy all the time and everything tasted really bad....I was really tired too. when I woke up yesterday everything tasted normal again it was like a miracle! ......make sure to drink as much as you can and keep an eye on the color of your urine. Don't let it get dark......if it starts to get dark make sure to drink more liquid.....When I called my nurse she suggested doing that rather than worrying about a certain number of ounces....I think that helped. Hang in there it will get better!!!

I was sleeved May 17th and my situation sounds the same. I wanted to sleep the first few days. So after each 10min walk I would climb back in bed. Yesterday I felt more energized and decided to cook Breakfast and dinner for my family...big mistake after dinner I started feeling lightheaded, dizzy, BP was slightly elevated as well as my temperature. I say all of that to say rest is equally as important. As for fluids I've only been able to get down one to two 17oz. bottles of Water or other fluids, at least a couple of popsicles and yesterday was able to get in a 11oz Protein shake. It gets better with each day so hang in there

My surgery was the 18th too and I have zero energy I can barely drink too. Just tiny small sips and if I do them too close together I feel like I'm overflowing or something and have to burp. It really feels like I chugged a carbonated drink that strange gassy feeling.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
