Las Vegas Shoppers...I need answers.

Recommended Posts

My wife & I are headed to Vegas shortly to do some shopping. I have to get a new wardrobe since I only have 3 shirts & a couple of paris of jeans that dont fall off me.

We have been to Vegas before, and have been to the Premium Outlets there, and found some pretty decent deals. That was about 3-4 years ago, and we will likely go back there this time.

Someone told us about Fashion Outlets in Primm NV, and we can catch a bus from the strip, its about 45 minutes away.

I notice that there is some of the same stores at each one, but I am wondering if anyone has been to both & if they can comment on which one they think is better or if itis worth going out to Primm over Premium Outlets?

Thanks,

Andrew

I used to live in Vegas and I spent most of my time at the Premium outlet. There wasn't enough of a price savings for me to drive all the way to Primm. They did have some really great deals plus it's just a beautiful mall.

The Vegas trip came & went.

We got crazy good deals leading up to the labour day sales. My wife finally told me we had to go home after shopping at the Premium Outlets for 7 hours in a single day.

It was nice to shop in normal stores and buy XL and a couple of L omg.gif

As for what I am doing, it is pretty simple. I make sure that I am getting enough protien. I eat pretty normally, while being careful of hidden calories and keep my intake around 1500-1750 calorie a day. I always start the day with a good protien shake for Breakfast (NxCare IsoPure).

What has been the key for me is getting to the gym. I spend 50 minutes on the eliptical 4 time per week at the gym. According to the machine I burn about 900 calories per session. I know the calorie counters can be off my as much as 30% so I enter a weight 30% below my current weight. (I have been slacking and not going to the gym in August as I needed more energy for the major work that I was doing in my yard).

Other than that it has been pretty simple for me. I have not really gone without except for the things that I can no longer eat.

Here are some pics from my 6 month post op post for those that are interested.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
