You want to take health advise from Coke?

@@Dub I rather like the Fairlife milk too! It's pricey though. Dasani Water - don't buy it, but in a pinch I would. Coca Cola had to diversify into other things because their sales of soda are taking....well not really they are still making billions but it's not the same amount of billions they made before.

I haven't ingested soda in a long time. I used to drink it daily, but as of about 3 years ago I went cold turkey. I did have a period prior to surgery where I let it back in my life for a little while but once I decided to pursue surgery I eliminated it again.

Will I NEVER have a soda for the rest of my life? Probably not....I can see a ginger ale in my future maybe....or a root beer float for a treat....but every day? NAH. No thanks. I just don't want to waste the calories drinking them.

Coca-cola is a marketing company that sells sugar and Water or fake sugar and Water, or just water (Dasani anyone?).

And now they sell milk, too.

Fairlife is pretty good stuff.....almost hate to admit this.

it is good! very tasty but. I think probably not necessary to fiddle with milk quite so much.

Nestle has been doing the same thing in the developing world for years. Selling "fortified" chocolate and Cookies and telling people they are healthy.

It doesn't matter really. The US is a flat market. All the growth for most companies is in the developing world. There are areas of the world where Water is bad, so people just drink coke.

People were drinking Coca-Cola for decades and not getting massively fat. The difference was, soda was considered a rare treat, it was made with real sugar, and it was in reasonable portions.

I usually have Fairlife regular & chocolate in the fridge because my son likes to drink them............and I've "heard" an ounce their chocolate makes for a mean cup of mocha coffee. ;)

Hey I just read that "some surgeons" are ok with coke (insert sarcasm).

I know it is hard I love red wine coffee WITH caffeine (I look forward to having small amounts one day) and I loved Perrier (have let set in travel mug for a day to get totally flat, still like flavor but probably not buying anymore). But seriously, I am new, but really? limited real estate -- Protein Water.

When I was a kid a bottle of Coke was 6-1/2 ounces. Now a bottle or can is 12 ounces, or 16, or 24.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
