californiabern 4 Posted May 20, 2016 I was just wondering how long the typical hospital stays was or will be?
peaceout 273 Posted May 20, 2016 That's very case-dependent. Some surgeons do outpatient procedures. Every handout I was given by my surgeon said his typical sleeve patient will stay 2 nights in the hospital- they let me go after 1 because I was walking a lot, could keep down my Protein drink, and wasn't hitting the pain button too often. The general trend seems to be 1-2 nights if no complications arise.
MissMac 163 Posted May 20, 2016 My insurance (BCBS Federal) pre-approved five days but I only stayed two. Went in on a Monday morning and came home Wednesday evening.

Clarevoyant 347 Posted May 30, 2016 I asked my surgeon last visit. He said 90% leave after one night. The other 10% either are having trouble keeping liquid down or ask to stay because home is hectic with kids etc and they want peace and quiet Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App
