I was sleeved on Tuesday 5/17 - I have almost zero gas I my engine. I don't want to move or get up. I have been doing short walks and that's it. I thought I'd have more energy- who is up & out and what are you doing for energy?

I am doing clear liquid- but I can't tolerate broth. So it's been Water & ice pops. Any suggestions?

It's normal to be completely exhausted for several WEEKS (not days) after any major surgery. Treat yourself kindly.

sleep. You just had major surgery. You body is using all of its energy to repair the trauma. You are going to tired all the time for the first 6 weeks. Rest. You had most of a major organ removed.

I was tired for about 3 months after surgery, honestly. Every day, it got a little better, and of course everyone's body reacts and handles surgery differently. But I was exhausted for quite a while. It DOES get better, though! Just give your body time :)

Try Isopure. Has Protein in it and will give you life!! The fruit punch flavor is my favorite. You will feel much better once you get a little Protein in you. Good luck!!!

Before my sleve I had never had surgery before and was very surprised how tired and weak I was after surgery. Isopure was my savior for the firt few days. Be sure to follow the instructions from you surgeon and NUT on intake.

Walk as much as you can but dont over do it. And as always, if you are concerned just call your doctor.

Are you getting enough Protein? Call your nutritionist. I got sleeved last week 5/13 - first couple of days after a 20min walk I would nap. But lately my resistance is growing and not napping as much.

I can't drink the Isopure. It makes me gag. Although I heard they have iced tea flavored. I'll have to try. I'm going to try some more broth. It's crazy how you go from eating solids to not eating solids and its do-able. Something I never thought would be possible. I maybe tired but I'm in good spirits

Make sure you have enough:

- hydration

- electrolytes (sodium and potassium)

- Vitamins

- daily calories

- Protein

I had some issues with fatigue, but not extensive, and I paid careful attention to all the above.

I was sleeved on 5/4 and I have to agree it does get better each day. For the first week and a half I was exhausted and didn't feel like doing anything. After day 11 though things really turned around for the better. Hang in there and just make sure you are getting your Vitamins, your Water, and your Protein in.

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.

Neat you have a pic of this day! I was sooo happy to get my surgery. It was well worth it! And I'm not even near my goal. I had surgery Dec. 2!
