How long were some people out of work after their surgery?

I filled out FMLA paperwork to allow for up to 4 weeks continuous leave.

I did not have any problems so I ended up taking one week off and then working 6 hour days for the next 3 weeks.

I'm 1 week post op and started work Wednesday. I work from home so it's not too much strain

My Dr suggested 4 weeks and since I'm able to - that's what I'm taking.

7 days....but 4 of them were the weekend, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I really only missed 3 days. As a business owner, there's no such thing as paid vacation or sick leave. And I really didn't have any problems going back that soon.

I've heard mixed reviews! I hoping to only take off 2-3 days and have it go over the weekend so I get 4-5 days

I was off only 2 days. Had surgery on Thursday and went back on Sunday, Mother's Day. It all depends on your job though. You get tired really quickly because of the lack of calories.

I had surgery on a Thursday and took the rest of that week off and all of the next week. I'm glad I had the time off to heal, but I really could have gone back to work the Monday after surgery if I had needed to. I was sleeping 11-12 hours at night, but wasn't too tired during the day. I didn't take any pain meds once I got home, though. If you end up needing the pain meds, then you'll probably need more time off.

I went back to work at six days post op. I traveled from Mexico to Alaska on days three and four. I would have loved some more time off, but I've managed.
