audaciousmarie 165 Posted May 19, 2016 Hi. Just starting my process for sleeve surgery. Wondering how long this process takes before surgery? It really does depend on your insurance. My first time around I had UHC and they required 6 months supervised diet, Upper GI, sleep study, psych appt and nutritionist and weight loss (all of these appointments were at different places). Now this time I am going through Kaiser and all my surgeon required is psych, nutrition, ekg and pre op weight loss. It took 9 months with UHC but with Kaiser I think it'll take 2 months.
