mom2wils 16 Posted May 16, 2016 Learned a lesson today: if you eat too fast and subsequently a bit too much you will feel like dog crap. I got this overwhelming feeling of nausea, got really hot, felt faint, and my heart started beating really fast. Read some posts on here about what others have experienced and apparently that's not uncommon esp if you eat very quickly. I was starving and lunch tasted awesome. 1 week post revision band to sleeve and on full liquids. Easily getting in fluids. Not easily getting in Protein. And constipated as hell! (Started benefiber to help with that) Definitely difficult to relearn 20+ years of eating quickly (occupational hazard as a nurse - lunch is when you get it!). Next meal - new chance. Lisa Carr 8 Posted May 16, 2016 I hear ya. I'm in process. Band is out now must loose 20 before dr can go back in for bypass. I was eating fast and to much for a bit. Had to get a grip. Is dumping syndrome feel as bad as they say? I'm terrified of that... Lisa
Dub 9,922 Posted May 16, 2016 Yup. Eating fast is not good. I hate that feeling, too. Work lunches have always been rushed affairs for me, too. I've learned to slow my roll.
Sophie74656 1,572 Posted May 16, 2016 yep...8 months post op and I still struggle to slow myself down while eating. When I'm at work I either eat at my desk and take a bit then do a bit of work, take a bite, etc..or if I go to the cafeteria I bring a book and take a bite after every page at home I try to put my fork/spoon down for a few seconds in between bites.
