Valentina 2,642 Posted May 16, 2016 I think you are as normal as we come, my friend. WLS is a not only a major surgery, but is a life changing surgery. Not to be frighten would be abnormal. I take percocets every day. I have fibromyalgia , OA, RA, DJD, spinal defects, a complete L knee replacement, and rebuilding of L2, L3, L4, and L5, ---will have L1 rebuilt in the Fall--when I'm ready. WLS is one decision that has eased my pain more than any other attempt to do so. I am prepared to do just about anything that could relieve my of my daily pain--if just a wee bit. Taking weight off of my joints, and spine has reduced my ingestion of oral pain killers in half. Should you be frightened? absolutely Will your pain be less after WLS? I'm sure of it. Will you regret having WLS? maybe at first--which is also normal with the expected "hormonal flush" that most of us go through. Will your life change for the better after WLS? Absolutely--I promise, my friend. Keep posting your "rants and raves", your "fears", and "expectations".This site is full of people who have "been there/done that", and will be able to guide you. If you follow your bariatric team's program to the letter, keep a positive attitude and an increase in your activity level to the best of your physical ability, you will have a journey that will increase the joy in your life with your girls to a level you can only dream of now. This, too, I promise. Prayers going up for you.
