Finally a real before and after picture

Recommended Posts

So here it is....my daughter had this in her room and gave it to me. My highest weight was 297. Pre surgery 267, now 145. I'm 5'8 and it took me a little less than a year. Enjoy! Lol!!! Sorry it's sideways. I'm adding a side by side for comparison.

Freak out! They are -- but how can that be? -- the same person. Of course I've known that you'd lost oodles of pounds, but I'd not given a thought to what all those pounds may ever have looked like. If you now take a picture of yourself holding up your catch on a fishing trip to the same place, the poor things will look much, much larger.

Suggested captions for each photo: "Me on a sardine expedition" and "Me on a tuna trip."

Hot diggity.

@@darima77 In the beginning I was super strict and tracked my carbs, sugar, sodium and calories only eating 800. Now I eat whatever I want in small portions. I don't track anything. I made this salmon Wellington tonight for dinner and ate maybe a 2inch thick slice. Mainly focusing on the salmon but I did eat some of the crust too. My sleeve is small so I'm more of a grazer since I fill up so fast.

Thank you ladies! I know I keep saying this but I'm not always on here and I get a lot of questions so I've decided I will FB friend people for the messenger aspect of it. I DO NOT talk about my surgery. The people who need to know it's simply updates (secretly) and food ect... I'm willing to be friends with any of you to bounce idea's off of each other. If you're creepy and weird I have the ability to unfriend you and I will. I won't share who's on there with me now or ever. We just like to have fun! My reasoning behind this is because I work healthcare and have my phone on the floor. I can't have it going off for this. My last post have 11,000+ views and 300+ response. I don't like to miss a question that someone may have.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
